Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, or PBIS, is a proactive approach to establishing schoolwide systems of support. These include proactive strategies for defining, teaching and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments.

In September, we concentrated on the concept of safety. Each class completed a lesson on what it looks like to be safe in the hallways, the cafeteria, outside, the classroom, etc. Student responses were used to define what safety looks like at Lieser and will be used to teach and reinforce those behaviors.

October’s lesson is on the concept of respect.
