Current research suggests that over two months of student math skills are lost over the summer. In addition it can take up to two months from the first day of school for student’s brain development to get back on track. Summer is an especially important time to work with students that struggle in math to help them gain skills necessary to be successful in the upcoming school year. As few as 2-3 hours per weeks can maintain or even boost student math skills. The links below are great resources to use with students over the summer to help maintain or improve their math skills.
